WINE AND DINE WITH BENKAY JAPANESE RESTAURANT’S
1ST WINE DINNER EVENT

Food connoisseurs should not miss out on the date, 21st September 2006 as Hotel Nikko Kuala Lumpur presents its first wine dinner event for the year. Priced at only RM140 nett per person, the evening promises to be a spectacular one as the chefs pool their culinary creativity together to present a magnificent menu which showcases the best of Continental dishes and Japanese specialities. Each course will be accompanied by a selected wine, specially chosen to complement the special creation.

For the evening, diners can look forward to enjoying the following creations:

Pre Dinner Canapes: Gravlax on pumpernickel with dill mustard sauce; Tomato and basil crostini; Quail egg, tobikko and chervil croustades and Rosemary mini muffins with smoked ham and peach relish accompanied by a sparkling wine

Japanese Appetizer: Boiled radish on sweet bean paste; California roll and Tofu with minced chicken sauce accompanied by a selected sauvignon blanc

Soup: Tortilla spiced chicken soup with cilantro oil accompanied by a selected sauvignon blanc

1st Main Course: Grilled unagi kabayaki with sansho herbs accompanied by a pinot noir

Orange Sorbet

2nd Main Course: Roasted beef tenderloin; Ripe tomato, mushroom ragout
Thyme glaze and potato layer cake accompanied by a selected cabernet
sauvignon

Dessert: Sesame pudding with green tea ice cream and Red bean puree accompanied by a sweet dessert wine

Autumn is often considered to be the best season, with plenty of colours, autumn blooms and fine harvest. For this whole month the master chefs at Benkay Japanese Restaurant present some of finest autumn harvest from Japan for your enjoyment…

A special a-la-carte menu has been created for both lunch and dinner and features specialities such as sanama shioyaki (grilled Pacific saury with salt), aki saba sashimi (autumn mackerel sashimi), yaki nasu (grilled eggplant), nasu ebi takiawase (stewed eggplant with prawns), nasu tempura (eggplant tempura) and much more

Carvery Lunch Promotion is the highlight of the month at Café Serena Brasserie Restaurant, with vast selection of local and international delights. In anticipation of the forthcoming Mid-Autumn Festival or Mooncake Festival, Chef Lo Tian Siong of Toh Lee Chinese Restaurant presents nine different types of mooncakes which will be available from 1 August to 6 October 2006. Prepared using only the finest of ingredients, Chef Lo’s mooncakes are renowned for their smooth texture, thin pastry skins and distinctive flavours.

The different variations of traditional mooncakes that will be available are:
White lotus paste mooncakes at RM32+ per box of 2 pcs and RM60+ per box of 6 pcs
White lotus paste mooncakes with single yolk at RM37+ per box of 2 pcs and RM70+ per box of 6 pcs
White lotus paste mooncakes with double egg yolks at RM42+ per box of 2 pcs and RM80+ per box of 4 pcs

RAMADHAN FEAST AT HOTEL NIKKO KUALA LUMPUR

Ramadhan has always been a month for Muslims and non-muslims to savour the best of traditional, local and international delights. For the coming Ramadhan, Hotel Nikko Kuala Lumpur, will be offering full buffet spread at Café Serena Brasserie and choice of Ramadhan Bento at Benkay Japanese Restaurant.

The Ramadhan buffet is available from 23 September to 21 October 2006 for only RM90.00++ per person. Children aged between 6 to 12 years will dine for RM45.00++ per person. With 5 different rotating menus on a daily basis, the selections include Ikan Patin Masak Lemak Tempoyak, Ketam Masak Lemak Cili Api Nenas, Rendang Tok Perak to Deepfried Prawns with Butter Cream and Grilled Chicken with Teriyaki Sauce and more. In addition, diners will be spoilt for choice with the many action stalls available offering more choices such as Popiah Basah, Satay, Kebab, Noodles and beverages such as Sirap Bandung, Soya Bean, Sugar Cane and Nescafe Tarik.

To create a soothing dining experience, a Ghazal band will be performing daily from 6.45 pm to 9.30 pm throughout the Ramadhan period.
